Have you ever wanted to give printmaking a try? This is your chance! In this beginner’s class, students will learn the fundamental techniques of relief printmaking. Students will use both carving and non-carving forms of relief printmaking, utilizing many different traditional and non-traditional materials and tools. This class will primarily use wood blocks. Proper inking, printing, and press setup will be thoroughly covered. The instructor will provide technical assistance and conceptual feedback during studio work time. At the end of the class, students will be able to take home the prints that they have made. Come learn relief printmaking, express your creativity, and get ready for the “Big Ink” celebration (page 9)!
