Intermediate Jewelry (Wed, 6 weeks)

Roberta Ann Weisenburg
Session 2 (#1395): Wednesdays, 6 weeks / August 3 – September 7 / 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

If you have completed Beginning Jewelry and are ready to create your own designs and learn new techniques, this class is a great next step! Students will learn to use the more advanced tools found in the Hui’s studio, improve soldering skills, and refine designs for faster and more successful fabrication. The class may also explore riveting methods, how to imprint surface textures with the rolling mill, and how to create dimension with dapping tools, smithing stakes, and special mandrels. Many other techniques will be learned as students troubleshoot designs and work on individual projects. If you don’t have your own idea, you can also try one of Roberta or Julie’s more advanced projects! Note: Copper and brass sheet metal and wire are included in the supply fee and sterling silver will be available for purchase. Prerequisite: Beginning Jewelry or equivalent experience
Tuition: $195 ($244 nonmember)
Supply Fee: $45
