Friday, 1 day
October 21 / 8:00 am – 3:30 pm

Join a fantastic group of fellow photographers for a one-day photo walk in a beautiful Maui location. Guided by professional photographer Aubrey Hord and Allison Borell of East Maui Watershed Partnership, students will explore The Nature Conservancy’s Waikamoi Preserve Boardwalk Trail, taking photos along the way! This high-elevation rain forest and alpine shrubland provides a sanctuary for hundreds of native Hawaiian plants and animals. Photo walks are designed for students who enjoy exploring new locations with a group and are very comfortable with manual settings and general use of their cameras. Inspired by the Malama Wao Akua exhibition in the Hui gallery? This workshop will help you to prepare for next year! Don’t forget to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy in the field. Mahalo to East Maui Watershed Partnership and The Nature Conservancy for helping to make this experience possible! Note: The class will meet at 8:00 am at the Hui and caravan to the site. Prerequisite: In the Field: Using Your DSLR Camera on Location or equivalent experience. Students should be in physical condition to do a moderate/strenuous hike on uneven terrain at elevation.

Tuition: $85 ($107 nonmember)
