Youth Teaching Artist
Katie Peterson is a local artist, specializing in detailed graphite and watercolor renderings. Her love of the natural world and experiences farming and hiking in the Adirondack and Siskiyou Mountains inspire much of her work. She holds BAs in Creative Writing and Studio Art from SUNY Geneseo and a certificate in Herbalism from Herb Pharm in Williams, OR. As a singer/songwriter, Katie often incorporates music and poetry into her lessons, believing that music – like gardening – is a creative art form that not only mimics the expressive qualities of the visual arts, but also enhances and inspires the creative experience.
