Open studio is available to currently enrolled Hui ceramics students without charge for the duration of their class. Former ceramics students will qualify to attend open studio sessions if they have completed a 6-week or longer intermediate course or a 8-week or longer beginning course at the Hui and membership is current. They will be responsible for monthly fees and attending work days and monthly meetings.

Monthly Fee: $50

  Jewelry Open Studio

Tuesdays, 9:00 am - 12:00 noon
Wednesdays, 6:00 - 9:00 pm (pending class schedule)
Saturdays, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Open studio is available to currently enrolled Hui jewelry students without charge for the duration of their class. Former students may attend open studios for a monthly fee. All participants may purchase supplies at the studio.
First open studio of the year 1/12/08.
3 visit punch card $45, 6 visit punch card $80 (Punch cards expire three months from time of purchase). $20 one-time visit (paid in studio by cash or check). Monthly Fee: $50 ($60 nonmember) unlimited usage per month

  Photography Open Studio

Thursdays 3:00 - 9:00 pm (counts as two session on punch card)

Open studio is available to currently enrolled Hui traditional photography students without charge for the duration of their class. Former students may attend open studios for a monthly fee or purchase punch card. First open studio of the year 1/24/08.
4 visit punch card $45, 8 visit punch card $80 (Cards expire three months after date of purchase). $20 one-time fee (must be paid in studio by cash or check) Monthly Fee: $50 ($60 nonmember) unlimited usage per month

 


  Printmaking Open Studio

Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays, 6:00 - 9:00 pm
Saturdays, 1:00 - 4:00 pm

A great way to meet other printers and exchange ideas. A studio tech is on hand to assist with basic relief, monotype, etching, lithography, screen printing, and water-based printmaking techniques. Open Studio is designed for continuing and beginning students alike. Currently enrolled Hui print students may attend for no fee for the duration of their class. Former students may attend open studios for a monthly fee. All participants will be charged a monthly supply fee to cover basic studio necessities.

Monthly Fee: $50 ($60 nonmember)
Monthly Supply Fee: $15


 


Studio News

Ceramics - Workdays & Meetings
Workdays are scheduled for the third Saturday of each month from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm followed by lunch and a monthly meeting from 1:00 - 2:30 pm.

The next meeting is scheduled for January 19 at 1:00 pm. The Hui thanks everyone who has volunteered to help with the studio cleaning and maintenance. Mahalo nui loa for taking pride in our studio and making it a better place to work!

A REMINDER: Be sure to check the schedule. Independent potters are asked not to use the studio during visiting artist workshops and 10:00 am - 1:00 pm on scheduled workdays.


Printmaking - HuiPress Calendars
2007 HuiPress Calendars are now available in the Gallery Shop! This annual favorite sells out faster every year! Completely created in our print studio, this must have gem contains 13 original prints in a variety of print media by Maui artists of established and emerging significance. The Hui would like to extend a big mahalo to the thirteen participating artists who donated their work to this project!
