Ceramics Open Studio Studio Monitors Please check the schedule at the studio to confirm open studio dates & times or phone the studio at 573-2529. The studio is closed Sunday and all major holidays. Open studio is available to currently enrolled Hui ceramics students without charge from the first day of class until their last. Former ceramic students and users are qualified to attend open studio if they have completed a 6-week or longer course at the Hui and membership is current. They will be responsible for monthly fees and attending work days and monthly meetings. There is no open studio during classes or workshops. Please view the calendar for scheduled open studio and class times. Monthly Fee: $50 Supplies available for purchase in the studio

Jewelry Open Studio Tech- JB Rea, Julie Matheis NEW OPEN STUDIO HOURS as of 4/20/10: Beginning Open Studio (for beginning level students ONLY) Mondays, 12noon-3pm Thursdays, 6pm-9pm Intermediate/Advanced Open Studio** Tuesdays, 9am-12noon Fridays, 6pm-9pm Saturdays, 9am-1pm **Prerequisites apply. Please see studio policy for details. In order to use open studio, students must have completed or be currently enrolled in a six week class or longer. All open studio users must wear eye protection and pull long hair back. Participants may purchase supplies at the studio. Studio users who are not currently enrolled in a class must be current Hui members. NEW STUDIO POLICIES effective 4/20/10: Click here to see NEW additions/adjustments to studio policy. STUDIO FEES: Non-currently enrolled students- $20 one-time visit (paid in studio by cash or check or by phone 572-6560 and at front desk with credit card)prior to studio use. $75 unlimited usage per calendar month (must pay front desk or by phone 572-6560 prior to studio use). Current students- $20 optional "Open Studio Pass" which covers studio use for the duration of class. A REMINDER: Be sure to check the Hui class schedule. Open Studio users are asked not to use the studio during workshops scheduled.

Life Drawing Open Studio Studio Techs Figure Drawing Open Studio Next Session: October 10,2009 10:00am-1:00pm Click here to register online. Location will be posted on front door of main house, subject to change. Practice the fundamental art of figure drawing in the Hui's Figure Drawing Open Studio program. Bring any materials you wish to use and complete sketches using a live model as inspiration. Pre-registration is REQUIRED Fee: $15 ($19 nonmember)

Photography Open Studio Studio Techs Photography Open Studio Wednesdays, starting July 14th from 5:00-8:00 pm. Open studio is available to currently enrolled Hui traditional photography students without charge for the duration of their class. Former students may attend open studios for a monthly fee of $50 or $15 per visit. Contact the Registrar at 572-6560 ext. 21 to pay for open studio time. Must be paid in advance.

Printmaking Open Studio Claudia Coonen& Tania Arens, Studio Tech Saturdays, 10pm-2pm Mondays, 6:00 - 9:00 pm If you are an advanced level printer, please inquire about Advanced Independent Open Studio on Wednesdays from 10am-1pm. Open Studio is a great way to meet other printers and to exchange ideas. Open Studio is designed for continuing and beginning students and printers alike. Currently enrolled Hui print students may attend for no fee for the duration of their class. Former students, who are current members, may attend open studio for a monthly fee or a one-time visit fee. All studio users must have taken a introductory 6 week or longer course at the Hui in order to use the studio. If you have questions please call the registrar at (808) 572-6560. Punch Card of 8 Visits: $65 (expires 3 months from purchase date) Single Visit Fee: $15

Shibori Open Studio Claudia Coonen **The next Shibori Open Studios are September 9 & September 16th / 6 - 9 pm, unless otherwise noted. The price for this open studio is $20 and covers the dying of 3 yards of normal weight fabric or 1.5 yards of heavyweight fabric. As open studio users, you will need to bring your own fabric, gloves, and other tools that you might want to use. The Hui will provide the Shibori vat and dye. Claudia Coonen will also be available for technical support. She can help you determine whether a fabric is considered heavyweight or normal weight. $20 per open studio visit Payment can be made via Cc by phoning 572-6560 ext. 21 or pay by cash or check in person at the Hui or the night of open studio.

Studio News Ceramics - Workdays & Meetings Workdays are scheduled for the last Saturday of each month from 9:00 am - 12:00 noon followed by lunch and a monthly meeting from 12:00 noon - 1:00 pm. The Hui thanks everyone who has volunteered to help with the studio cleaning and maintenance. Mahalo nui loa for taking pride in our studio and making it a better place to work! A REMINDER: Be sure to check the schedule. Independent potters are asked not to use the studio during visiting artist workshops, during regular class times and 10:00 am - 1:00 pm on scheduled workdays.
