Strategic Plan

Hui No'eau is pleased to release our Strategic Plan for the next 5 years. Following the purchase of Kaluanui in 2005, board and staff began a 2-year planning process. After community consultation, a Strategic Planning Committee was formed in February 2007 to engage in fact-finding and analysis, looking specifically at Hui history, current programs, studio capacity and conditions, potential markets, current reach, organization and staffing, and earned and contributed income. Through this rigorous process, it became clear that the Hui's current program model is not economically sustainable. So the committee took up the challenge of creating a new vision for the future – one that is grounded in the Hui's history and past successes. This Strategic Plan exemplifies excellence in arts programming, secures Hui No'eau's financial future, and transforms the 69-year-old organization into a vibrant force not only in the cultural life of Maui but also the world. This is a fluid document that will need to be changed as new opportunities, information, and challenges arrive. We welcome comments. Please email strategicplan@huinoeau.com.
