Hui No‘eau invites the community to celebrate 100 years of its historic estate at the Kaluanui Centennial Festival & Family Day
Hui No‘eau is hosting its Kaluanui Centennial Festival & Family Day on Saturday, July 22nd from 10am – 2pm at Hui No’eau Visual Arts Center. The family friendly event is open to the public with free admission and celebrates the 100-year anniversary of the Hui’s historic Kaluanui estate.

Hui No‘eau Visual Arts Center wraps up first semester of Na Keiki No‘eau Program in Makawao Elementary School’s A+ After School Program
With support from the Atherton Family Foundation, Alexander & Baldwin, Inc. and private donors, Hui No‘eau Visual Arts Center is excited to announce successful completion of its first semester of a new program called Na Keiki No‘eau. Na Keiki No‘eau is a visual arts education program that sends Hui teaching artists off-site and into A+ After School programs in Maui County. The program was developed in response to a great need expressed by Maui educators for more arts rich learning opportunities for students in and after school.

Hui No‘eau Visual Arts Center will present a FREE Talk Story & Demonstration with Lloyd Kumulā‘au Sing Jr. & May Haunani Balino-Sing on Friday, May 26, 2017. Stop by any time between 10:00am and 12:00pm to talk story with these talented artists! Kumulā‘au & Haunani will demonstrate how to weave some examples of ‘ie basketry and will be displaying various artifacts of the art form. In a casual and intimate setting, they will also be able to share and answer questions about how pieces were created and the complexities that come with reinvigorating the cultural practice of ‘ulana ‘ie (‘ie‘ie weaving).

Youth Scholarships Available in 2016
Hui No‘eau Visual Arts Center in Makawao received a generous donation from a private donor to support the Hui’s Youth Scholarship Fund. This donation provides tuition assistance for children ages 2.5 to 17 who demonstrate financial need and wish to participate in the visual arts. Hui No‘eau is thrilled to offer an increased number of scholarships in 2016!
