Fall 2013 Exhibition Opportunities!
September 6, 2013 You have just two weeks left (exhibition closes on September 20) to view the 2013 Solo Artist Exhibition featuring new collections by artists Jonathan Yukio Clark and Chenta Laury! These two incredible artists have each created a body of new work that is truly spectacular. You'll be amazed not only by their technical execution, but also by their thoughtfulness and artistry. Don't miss it!
Here are some other interesting ways to engage with our 2013 Solo Artists:
- Read more about each artist on our Hui blog or in our Fall 2013 issue of Create.
- Attend a walk-through with artist Chenta Laury on Saturday, September 7 at 12pm in the gallery. You'll meet the artist and learn about her creative process!
- Enroll in a class! Both of our 2013 Solo Artists also love to share their gifts with our Hui students. Jonathan will be teaching Visual Languages: Explorations in Mixed Media starting September 28. Chenta will teach Introduction to Felting starting October 18 and Felted Holiday Ornaments on December 11.
Hui No‘eau's Solo Artist Exhibition is one of the only exhibitions in the state that provides the unique opportunity for artists to be personally involved in all the facets of exhibition planning and installation. It has advanced careers, spurred community dialogue, and continues to define our local visual arts movement.
Call to Artists! Going to the Dogs
The Hui is "going to the dogs" this fall (and we are really looking forward to it!). "Receiving Day" for this October themed exhibition is September 24, so you have plenty of time to get your creativity flowing and prepare your pieces for submission. We can't wait to see what comes through the door!
