2014 Hui No‘eau Annual Juried Exhibition January 11 - February 13 Receiving Day: Friday, January 3 / 9:00 am - 4:00 pm With renowned guest jurors offering a different perspective for a unique show each year, this prestigious competition offers an opportunity to view current work of local and mainland artists in all media. Ceramics, printmaking, sculpture, photography, painting, drawing, jewelry, digital media, fiber, wood, mixed media and all other creative explorations are welcome!

Announcing Juror Wendy Kawabata! We are pleased to welcome our 2014 juror: Wendy Kawabata's work resides at the intersection of drawing and fiber. She received her BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art and her MFA from the University of New Mexico. Wendy is the recipient of a 2012 Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant and has presented her work in numerous solo and group exhibitions at venues including The Corban Estate Arts Centre and The Sanderson Contemporary Gallery in Auckland, New Zealand, The Center for Book and Paper Arts, Chicago, Illinois, and the Haas Gallery of Art at Bloomsburg University. Her work has received recognition from national and international publications including, Art in America, Modern Painters, Artweek, and NO Magazine. She is represented by the Sanderson Contemporary Gallery in Auckland, New Zealand. www.wendykawabata.com

This exhibition challenges emerging and established artists to exhibit a complete new body of work. As one of the only shows in the state of Hawai‘i that provides the unique opportunity for the artist to be personally involved in all facets of exhibition planning and installation, this exhibit advances careers, spurs community dialogue, and continues to define our local visual arts movement.
