Join us for an exciting presentation with Visiting Artist Tom Z.G. Tong! He will discuss what ink brush painting is and what makes it unique in the world of art.  

Artist Biography:
Born in China in 1950, Tom Z.G. Tong began his studies in both oil and ink painting at Hebei University. He completed his Master of Fine Arts Degree at China National Academy of Art in Hang Zhou, where he continued on as professor of painting. During his eleven years of teaching, Tom produced a large body of work and participated in national and international exhibitions. Tom was then invited to the University of California, Berkeley as a visiting scholar at the Institute of East Asian Studies. His paintings have been exhibited at various museums and galleries in the U.S., Canada, China, Germany, Japan, Africa, and are collected by the China National Art Committee, China Ministry of National Cultural Affairs, and other international institutions. Today, Tom works and resides in Oahu, Hawai‘i. He currently teaches at the Honolulu Museum of Art School and continues to create new works from his studio. zgtongart.com
